SRMP’s focus is shifting in 2024 to academic endeavors – to be reflected in forthcoming curricular,  co-curricular, scholarly and public history-oriented engagements. To orient this shift, SRMP is reorganizing its commitment to a new charge by organizing our efforts into 5 new working groups. Please follow this link for more information.

Charge: The Steering Committee is primarily responsible for setting the curricular course of the SRMP. Furthermore, the steering committee oversees SRMP’s alignment with the University’s Strategic Framework and its 3 Goals. In order to build clarity around “setting the curricular course” and aligning with the Strategic Framework the steering committee will accomplish its charge by organizing their work across a series of working groups.

  1. There will be 5 working groups
  2. Each group will have 3 members (some members can serve on more than one group)
  3. Each group should meet 2 times per term
  4. By the end of the year each group will have outlined
    • Objectives for each group
    • Outcomes
    • Material needed to achieve outcomes
    • Timeline

Membership: The current steering committee members have been assigned to 1-2 working groups for the duration of AY24-25. Working group members will work as parties of 3-4 per group to establish a meeting schedule and cadence. Sean McClure will assist in securing space and materials as needed for each meeting. Working groups should meet at least 2-3 times per term, noting that the Steering Committee will come together as a whole 2 times per term as well.
